Meet the Staff

Cooper and Julie Castleberry, Owners - Cooper started on the delivery truck as a kid in 1965 working part-time for his dad, Harry Castleberry, to earn extra money (since his dad did not believe in giving his sons "an allowance").  As a teen, he continued to work on Saturdays, and during his days at Stephen F. Austin State University, he would drive back and forth between Lufkin and Nacogdoches every day to attend classes in the morning and work at the business during the afternoons.  He came on board full time in January, 1974.
Julie became involved quite by accident as she and Cooper were high school sweethearts, and she would go on family trips to the Dallas Home Furnishings Market.  Since her mom, Jane Noland, taught home economics at Lufkin High School, Julie already had a background in decorating.  At market, she exhibited a flair for picking accessories and fabrics and helped make buying decisions.  Julie and Cooper were married in June of 1974 and as time passed, her influence became more important.

When Cooper became a full-time employee, Harry immediately began training him to take over the family business.  At first, his main duties were sales and buying.  By 1981, he would be handed the reins to run the store, but always under Harry’s watchful eye. It was as Harry’s health began to fail in the mid 1990’s that Julie became involved in the general operations of the store and took a more active role as the buyer.  Not only that, but shoppers learned to trust her judgment coordinating fabrics and colors. She emerged as a vital link in the entire operation. Today, Cooper and Julie are respected as experienced, knowledgeable interior consultants.  Their reputation continues to spread as more homeowners and businesses rely on their expert advice.

Cooper and Julie have three children.  Claire Hennessey of San Antonio, Anne McCarty of Ft. Worth and Harry Cooper (Trey) Castleberry III of Lufkin.  They also have one granddaughter, Julianne Hennessey.

Becky Castleberry - The wife of Harry Castleberry (the store's founder) and mother to Cooper and Stan Castleberry.  Becky was there at the beginning.  In 1962, she sat alone in an empty building signing for freight while Harry was out working his sales promotion business.  She was the corporate secretary for over 25 years.  Now retired, she still checks in almost daily to make sure "we're doing it right."
Rhonda Byers, General Manager - Rhonda has been with Castleberry’s, Inc. since 1990.  Originally hired as a floor salesperson, she was quickly moved into the business office because of her extraordinary knack for organization.  She spent a short term as the manager of the Furniture Factory Outlet, but in the mid-1990’s was moved back to the main office to help run the entire organization.  She is now the General Manager of Castleberry’s, Inc.  Her primary duties are the overseeing of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and making sure our customers needs are met.
Martha Keller, Sales Consultant - Martha has been on our sales staff since 1999.  Her friendly and bubbly personality makes her very easy to work with.  She has a great feel for style and color, and thus has many loyal customers.
Earlene Feeler, Sales Consultant - Earlene joined the sales staff in 2003.  Her background in sales is rooted in the clothing industry having worked for Beall’s Department Store for over ten years.  Her pleasant smile and soft voice put her clients at ease, and they do not feel “pressured” into making the wrong decision for their homes.
